With the aim of promoting and popularizing the art of Chinese calligraphy, The Federation of Calligraphy Society Malaysia’s successive board members have been steadfast in promoting calligraphy, diligently contributing to the remarkable achievements in the development of Chinese calligraphy in our country.
Inheriting the past and ushering in the future, the current board of directors has taken up the legacy of the association’s past leaders, while simultaneously working to popularize calligraphy among grassroots communities, striving to elevate calligraphy to the level of a prestigious art form, with the aim of promoting and introducing Malaysia’s calligraphic culture to the world. Thus, the concept of the “2024 Kuala Lumpur World Calligraphy Carnival” is officially born.
The year 2024 coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Malaysia-China diplomatic relations. Seizing this opportune moment, The Federation of Calligraphy Society Malaysia will utilize this international cultural and artistic event to enhance the image of our country’s culture and promote the popularization of calligraphy, while also serving as a tribute to the friendly relations between Malaysia and China.
Flowers symbolize pure friendship; flowers represent the aesthetic of antiquity. The “2024 Kuala Lumpur World Calligraphy Carnival” seizes this opportunity to create a flourishing garden, symbolizing the abundance of blossoms and infinite vitality.
This is a realm filled with boundless creativity and artistic ambiance, gathering calligraphers, artists, and cultural enthusiasts from around the world. In this garden, people can immerse themselves in the wonderful world of calligraphy, enjoying the pleasures of observation, creation, and exchange.
In addition, besides showcasing the artistic works of local calligraphy, this carnival will also promote other local artistic cultures to the outside world, including cuisine, ceramics, batik, seal carving, etc. It is hoped that attendees will not only appreciate and enjoy the visual calligraphic works but also actively engage in the creation of local cultural artifacts, experiencing the integration of internal and external cultivation and enhancing their own levels of artistic and cultural literacy.

The “Forever Blooming” Calligraphy Exhibition of our advisor Dato‘ Seri Kee Yong Wee will be held in The Selangor & Federal Territory Hainan Association (Thean Hou Temple) grand hall.
